Hey there! My name is Karin Dabney, and I've been teaching and training for over thirteen years. I started riding in 1996 when I was just three years old, although I rode sporadically until I was ten and I started official riding lessons. I quickly fell in love with jumping and dressage, and eventually found the latter of the two to be my real love. Since then, I've dabbled in other disciplines like competitive trail, working equitation, and eventing- but above it all, I've found that the thing I'm most passionate about is good horsemanship.

I've worked and lived all over the country in states including Connecticut, Louisiana, Kentucky, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and finally settled here in Washington state. Having lived coast to coast, I've had the opportunity to experience all different types of training philosophies and take what I loved from all of them. While in Kentucky, I had the privilege of training under Jesse Westfall of Westfall Horsemanship, who helped shape many of my beliefs as a horsewoman.

Now, I strive to encourage good horsemanship in all of my clients, viewing horses from an empathetic and compassionate perspective and getting to the root of issues instead of addressing them with a "band-aid". I believe a gentle and collaborative approach to horses is the key to creating content and willing equine partners.
